*A white woman referring to herself as a Trump supporter called police Thursday morning to report a black state senator who was simply speaking with voters outside a Brooklyn subway station.
According to the New York Daily News, Sen. Jesse Hamilton was talking to constituents at the Parkside Ave. subway entrance in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens when the woman, who spoke with an Eastern European accent, accused Hamilton of being too strong in his support for immigrants, his office said.
“I support Trump, and I see the difference between Democrat and Republican — and I see the difference between you and Trump,” the woman told Hamilton’s staffer Raul Rothblatt.
She then pointed to a brochure titled “Fighting Back Against Trump” and said, “This is should not be here. If they really want nation be as one and fight for a better life and live in a better life, you wouldn’t put this here.”
She then called 911. Police from the 71st Precinct arrived, quickly concluded that their time was being wasted and left the scene.

Hamilton (D-Brooklyn) compared his ordeal to a string of recent incidents in which whites have called the police to report black people doing everyday activity. Notably, Oregon state legislator Janelle Bynum, who is black, was canvassing in her district when someone called the police on her.
“The pattern of targeting black men and women for being black and alive in the communities we all share has to stop,” he said. “This pattern of calling the police on black people going about their business and participating in the life of our country has to stop.”
