Kevin Hart Gives $600,000 to Scholarship Fund for HBCU-Bound Students

*Kevin Hart, KIPP Charter Schools and the United Negro College Fund have teamed up to give scholarships to 18 students to attend historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Through his Help from the Hart Charity program, Hart has donated $600,000 to support the 18 students of “KIPP” (a national network of charter schools) from 8 different cities. The scholars are attending 11 different HBCUs across the country.

The recipients were selected based on academic and personal accomplishments.

The 39-year-old comedian says he just wanted to do his part in providing opportunities and that “this is just the beginning.”

The students hail from Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington, D.C.
