*Every dog has its day, and this weekend four dogs will have theirs in the feature film “Dog Days,” a hilarious and heartfelt ensemble comedy directed by Ken Marino and starring Eva Longoria.
Saturday (August 4) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, the cast sat down with the press to talk about their upcoming film and their plans for National Dog Day.
Director Ken Marino was thrilled to include this particular film to his directorial repertoire.
“I wanted to find a movie where I could work with a lot of actors and have a bunch of relationships that were real”, Marino said. “And this movie came along, I loved it, I love how dogs affect people lives, I love how dogs make me feel and so I thought this would be a fabulous film to make.”
Ken also went out his way to show Eva Longoria and our correspondent his dog howling skills and even started a #mutthowlingchallenge on his twitter account.
Nina Dobrev who plays a television host named Elizabeth in the film, defended the actions of her character on using dogs as bait and confirmed that she has been asked on a dog date.
“She wasn’t bait…as I told you before, Dobrev said. “She wasn’t bait [the dog] she just happened to make an introduction organically because you meet people who have dogs and you have conversations and that’s kind of what this movie is about….and it has happened in real life too, yes I have been asked out on a dog date.”
Vanessa Hudgens who plays Tara in the film, shared with our EUR correspondent Jay Styles on how she plans to celebrate her dog Darla on National Dog Day.
“Probably get Darla a bunch of treats, take her on a nice long walk and post a picture of her on Instagram”, Hudgens said.
