*After being physically attacked mid-concert by fellow bandmate Bryan Abrams, Color Me Badd singer Mark Calderon is speaking out about the events that led up to him being “blindsided” during the group’s concert at the Vine at Del Lago Resort and Casino in New York.
Video shows Abrams shoving Calderon off the stage as the Saturday evening concert was coming to an end. Abrams is now facing assault charges and is due back court on Aug 28.
“I was confused,” Calderon told News10NBC. “It just happened so fast.”
“Groups have craziness going on but you don’t have to let everyone see it,” the singer added. “He was drunk, intoxicated and who knows what else.”
Calderon says Abrams was tipsy when the band first took the stage, and slurred and stumbled through the first and only song he would sing that night. Abrams then wandered off stage.
“The second song came on and I’m thinking ‘where the hell did he go?’ He never came back.”
The show went on with Abrams nowhere to be found until after the final song “I Wanna Sex You Up.” As Calderon thanked the crowd, Abrams aggressively shoved him to the floor.
“He blindsided me,” said Calderon. “Next thing I knew I was on the ground. I didn’t know what happened.”
Security rushed up the stage ramp and backstage and arrest Abrams for assault.

Calderon added, “He’s tried to reach out to me but as of right now, now’s not the time for me to talk to him.”
”Really concerned for his health because this has been going on for a while now,” said Calderon. “He’s an amazing man, a great person, he really is, but when he starts drinking he’s a monster.”
As for future concerts, Calderon tells News10NBC the group will continue on with or without Abrams. Color me Badd is scheduled to perform at Buffalo’s Canalside on August 11th as part of the I Love the 90’s Tour.
