TV Host Ron Brewington Celebrates 100th Broadcast of ‘The Actor’s Choice’

*Hollywood, CA — On Monday, July 23, 2018, TV show “The Actor’s Choice” will broadcast it’s 100th episode from Universal Broadcasting Network, Sunset-Gower Studios, Hollywood, California. The program is hosted, written, and produced by Ron Brewington and is broadcast around the world every Monday morning starting at 11 a.m. PST.

“The Actor’s Choice” has aired since December, 2015. The program is a television entertainment talk show, which centers on actors and actresses, as well as directors, producers, publicists, stage managers and other theatrical performers.

“Hosting and producing this program is a gigantic joy for me,” says Brewington. “I get a chance to meet the persons who give us the tremendous entertainment that we see on television, film, and stage. There’s nothing like it!”

Brewington’s guest on this 100th show is Lisa Ruffin – actress, multi-talented performer and choreographer. Her acting credits include, “Him and Us,” “Seth,” “The Raven,” and her very memorable role as “Deena” on the long running soap “All My Children.” Lisa has made appearances on The David Letterman Show and Saturday Night Live. She has also graced the covers and interiors of respected magazines such as Essence, Ebony and Black Enterprise. She’s done numerous commercials, including her “Secret” commercial, directed by award winning director, Jessicia Yu. Her most recent performance credits include “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” “The BET Awards,” – performing with Stevie Wonder.

Lisa created a non-profit, educational program called Little Miss African American Scholarship Pageant, for young girls 6-12 years of age. They are celebrating their 25th year of teaching how to create beauty and become presidents of everything.

Brewington formerly was a host and producer of ActorsE Chat (not to be confused with “The Actors Choice”), a daily international television talk show for nearly three years. The program was seen by more than six million people worldwide via internet and cable; it has aired since 2009 with over 1,400 guests. ActorsE Chat features live interview conversations with persons in the entertainment industry. He was also a host and producer of Actors Reporter, a monthly international television talk show.

Additionally, Brewington once covered the on-the-spot entertainment scene, reporting from events such as the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, American Music Awards, Emmy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, BET Awards, and others.

In the radio world, Brewington worked as an Anchor/Correspondent for KJLH-FM, Los Angeles; Correspondent for KGFJ-AM, Los Angeles; Anchor/Reporter for KLON-FM, Long Beach, and several other radio stations around the country, including KKFX-AM, Seattle, Washington; KEXX-FM, Corpus Christi, Texas, and KEYS-AM, Corpus Christi, Texas; and was a television news reporter at KRIS-TV, Corpus Christi, Texas.

As the result of a worldwide campaign, Brewington was instrumental in getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the late Motown Records singer Marvin Gaye. He was also responsible for getting stars for The Miracles, legendary songwriters Holland-Dozier-Holland, and most recently the selection of renowned legend singer Jackie Wilson. He was also instrumental in getting Isaac Hayes and the Funk Brothers inducted onto Hollywood’s RockWalk, and was named an “Honorary Funk Brother.”

A former New York City resident, Brewington is a retiree of the U.S. Navy, where he served as Station Manager and News Director at Navy Broadcasting Service Detachments (Armed Forces Radio and Television Service affiliates) at Adak, Alaska; Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; and the USS New Jersey (BB-62). He also served at other locations around the world, including his final assignment at the Long Beach, California Naval Station as the Public Affairs Officer.

Brewington was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame (Class of 2007) in Akron, Ohio, on November 4, 2007, along with his twin brother and fellow broadcaster, Rudolph Brewington.
