*STXfilms has nabbed the domestic rights to “The Best of Enemies,” a drama starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell.

The movie, which is based on the book The Best of Enemies: Race and Redemption in the New South by Osha Gray Davidson, follows the unlikely relationship between Ann Atwater (Henson), an outspoken civil rights activist, and C.P. Ellis (Rockwell), a local Ku Klux Klan leader. The duo reluctantly co-chaired a community summit, battling over the desegregation of schools in Durham, North Carolina, during the summer of 1971.

Producer Robin Bissell (“Hunger Games”) directed the film from a script that he also wrote, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rogue One actor Babou Ceesay, Anne Heche, Wes Bentley, Bruce McGill, John Gallagher Jr. and Nick Searcy also star.

Danny Strong, Fred Bernstein, Matt Berenson, Dominique Telson and Bissell produced, along with Material Pictures’ Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe. Rick Jackson and Jeremiah Samuels are executive producing.
