*Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr. is the highest paid athlete in the world, according to the latest list by Forbes, published Tuesday.

The business magazine reported that Mayweather made $285 million in prize money, salary, bonuses and endorsements between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018, attributing $275 million of that total to his Aug. 27 fight with Conor McGregor.

European soccer superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo ranked second and third, respectively, on this year’s list, followed by McGregor and a third soccer player, Neymar, at No. 5.

Forty of the 100 highest-paid athletes on the list are NBA players, led by Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who landed at No. 6 and No. 8 overall, respectively. The NFL had 19 representatives, while MLB had 14.

Everyone on Forbes’ list was paid at least $22.9 million over a 12-month span.
