*It seems NeNe Leakes has joined the chorus of voices that are not really here for Kylie Jenner’s new status as a “self-made” billionaire.
On Wednesday, the Forbes cover of the 20-year-old Kylie Cosmetics owner was released for its annual “America’s Women Billionaires” issue, and it was met with much criticism.
Leakes hit up Instagram to chime in on her former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” producer’s post of the cover, which he captioned: “Being on a reality show isn’t so bad, eh? Use your platform correctly, folks!”
“Well some people get opportunities that others will never get! Just saying! This game ain’t fair,” Leakes replied.
Jenner’s Forbes cover has the internet buzzing over the definition of “self-made.”

Even dictionary.com shaded Kylie/Forbes by tweeting the definition of the term along with the cover of the magazine. “Self-made means having succeeded in life unaided,” it read.
Leakes and many across the social media believe Jenner’s success didn’t come solely from her ingenuity and entrepreneurial skills.
Writer and commentator Roxane Gay tweeted in response to the conversation, “It is not shade to point out that Kylie Jenner isn’t self-made. She grew up in a wealthy, famous family. Her success is commendable but it comes by virtue of her privilege. Words have meanings and it behooves a dictionary to remind us of that.”
Twitter user @MsPackyetti wrote: “You can get on the cover of Forbes + be a young billionaire by selling the very features, style and swag that Black Women have always possessed but got called ghetto for it. The problem isn’t Kylie. The problem is America. If she didn’t exploit it, someone else would have.”
