Naomi Wadler: 11-Year-Old Activist to be Honored at NAACP WIN Empowerment Brunch July 15

Naomi Wadler

*SAN ANTONIO  – The NAACP announces that 11-year old activist Naomi Wadler will be honored at the annual Women in NAACP (WIN) Empowerment Brunch.  Ms. Wadler will also keynote this year’s brunch on Sunday, July 15, as part of the NAACP’s 109th annual convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Ms. Wadler rose to prominence after she delivered a powerful address at the March for Our Lives on March 24, 2018, at the National Mall. During which, she reminded listeners about the role African-American women in play in the fight against gun violence. Wadler has since been featured in various media outlets such as Elle, Huffington Post, BBC, and The Guardian.

Wadler’s work is rooted in passion and social justice. It drove her to lead a walkout of her George Mason Elementary School in Alexandria, V.A. as a response to the mass shooting at Parkland High School in Florida.

The WIN Forum, organizers of the Empowerment Brunch, seeks to enhance the leadership role of women, serve as an advocacy vehicle for issues affecting women and children, and advocate for the positive development of children. Wadler’s work to raise the issue of gun violence from the Black woman’s perspective and denounce acts of domestic terrorism exemplifies that calling.

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Wadler at this year’s WIN Empowerment Brunch.
