*A new eight-piece merchandise collection celebrating the life of XXXTentacion has been released by the late rapper’s estate.
The move was made to counter the abundance of illegal items using his likeness that have saturated the marketplace since his fatal shooting on June 18.
A member of X’s camp penned a detailed message to his Instagram story explaining the reason behind the memorial merch. “There are currently over 1 thousand bootleggers around the world selling clothes with X’s name and likeness,” the post began. “We wanted to give fans the ability to own and wear a piece of Jah’s artistry while also supporting his legacy. So today we are releasing the first collection of XXXTentacion Memorial Merch.”
The collection features a total of eight items, including hoodies, T-shirts, black shorts and the vinyl record of the slain rapper’s latest album, “?.” The tees come in black or white with three different signature designs and are priced at $35. The official “SAD!” hoodie is the most expensive item at $75 plus shipping costs. Each piece is expected to ship in about three to four weeks, according to the online store.
