TAYO Fatunla/INDEPENDENCE DAY – A Nation of Greatness

Cry my beloved country - Independence Day

*Donald Trump is not president of the US by accident as I will explain why.

Firstly, Senator Bernie Saunders refused to admit defeat during the Democratic nomination process for th US presidency when it was obvious that Hillary Clinton would eventually win. I also believe that Saunders did not convince his supporters enough to vote for Hillary so many did not vote for her. They voted for another party or decided to stay at home.

Hillary’s supporters supported Obama to sweep him into power especially women after she lost to him at her first attempt at the Democratic nomination process. Against Trump, Hillary was so badly damged that it was impossible for her to be President. Black votes that helped Obama win twice were not there for her as much as for Obama.

There was also the dislike for Obama by the Republican party for reasons best known and made obvious to many. A process through the years that would usher in Trump as leader, rather than for Hillary to continue from where Obama left off. Now secondly, Americans were not ready for a female president to rule over them. In the future maybe….My humble opinion.

Mr Trump runs the US as a business which he understands. It isn’t his fault that he is in power but you must respect that he won the election and he would not have turned down the opportunity given to him.

America is greater than any individual and does not need to be made “great again.”  I once lived in this awesome nation myself. I am greatful for the years I spent there and the faboulous friends I made whilst studying to be who I am today. If you are not into politics, US is a great place to visit and reside.

Happy Independence Day this 4th of July –
