LeBron James Signs 4-year $154 Million Deal with the LA Lakers! (WATCH)

*Umm, err, FORGET what we posted earlier about LeBron James waiting until Tuesday to announce what team he’ll be playing for. Heck, he’s already decided and it’s the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Klutch Sports, the agency that represents James, here’s the official announcement:

“LeBron James, four time NBA MVP, three time NBA finals MVP, fourteen time NBA All Star, and two time Olympic gold medalist has agreed to a four year, $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.”

James’ agent called Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson minutes before he sent the announcement tweet, a source told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. Then James called Koby Altman as soon as he got off the phone with Johnson.

Then they hit send.

As we reported earlier, because Paul George, another free agent that many had expected to land in LA, his home town, but instead re-signed with Oklahoma City, Lakers fans were on pins and needles thinking this would influence James decision negatively. Well, apparently not.

And of course there’s always the tantalizing concept of James and Kawhi Leonard on the same team as well since Leonard has let San Antonio know that he’d like to be released and play for his hometown Lakers, too. The Leonard trade is still possible, but the Spurs have been reluctant to send him to a conference rival and are said to be less-than-enchanted with what they would receive back.

But for now, the Lakers have secured free agency’s most coveted player.
