NY Giants’ Janoris Jenkins’ Brother William Charged with Manslaughter

*There’s been an arrest in connection to the in the death of a man found in the basement of NY Giants player Janoris Jenkins’ New Jersey home.

William Jenkins, the brother of the Giants cornerback has been charged with aggravated manslaughter. Reports say  William Jenkins was taken into custody early Tuesday morning on an unrelated parole warrant violation.

However, at this point, officials believe that before they arrested Jenkins — he killed Roosevelt Rene — the man discovered at Janoris’ home.

Rene’s body wasn’t found until roughly 8 hours after William was arrested. But once they started investigating, they believe they found enough evidence to connect William to the killing, reports TMZ.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and notes that the charges are “merely accusations. Defendant presumed innocent”

If convicted, William Jenkins faces 10 to 30 years in prison.

*Police have launched a homicide investigation into the discovery of a body at the home of New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, reports ESPN.

The body was identified as Roosevelt Rene, 25, a Jenkins family friend who had been living at the house, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

“The manner of death will be determined by the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office after a post-mortem exam,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

Jenkins was not at home when the body was discovered and has been in Florida since the completion of Giants minicamp two weeks ago, sources tell ESPN.

The cornerback has been advised by attorneys to remain in Florida, sources said.

The Giants said that they “are aware of and monitoring the situation.”
