*Joe Jackson has broken his silence since reports of him being hospitalized and near death surfaced last week.
The Jackson family patriarch took to Twitter on Sunday night with the message: “I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes.”
The message was tweeted along with a photo of the 89-year-old staring out into the ocean.

TMZ reported Friday that Jackson was suffering from terminal cancer and close to death. Neither Jackson nor the family has confirmed that diagnosis. However, Jermaine Jackson tweeted, “My father’s health is not good, but ‘dying’ is a harsh word chosen by headline writers, not me. For however long he has left, my mother, siblings, and relatives want to be with him, without hindrance.”
Also, Janet Jackson gave an emotional speech about her dad at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards on Friday night while receiving the Impact Award.
She thanked mom Katherine for “the most extravagant love imaginable,” and then thanked Joe, whom she said “drove me to be the best that I can.”
