*It’s must been very difficult for her, but Janet Jackson gave an emotional speech thanking her dad, (Joe Jackson) who – as we’ve reported- is said to be in the end stages of terminal cancer.
It happened Friday night when Janet appeared at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards and received the Impact Award. During her speech, she thanked mom Katherine for “the most extravagant love imaginable,” and then thanked Joe, whom she says “drove me to be the best that I can.”
As TMZ notes, it’s interesting that Janet talked about Joe as the person who “drove her.” Joe Jackson was infamously hard on his kids when they were young and starting out in show business.

*Joe Jackson is reportedly suffering from terminal cancer and is currently in the hospital being visited by family members “flocking to his bedside,” according to TMZ.
Citing family sources, the website reports that the 89-year-old Jackson family patriarch has been battling the illness for a while, but it is currently at the end stages.
His wife, Katherine, has been at his bedside recently, and some of their children and grandchildren have also made the trip to the hospital, notes TMZ.
No word on how much time he has left to live, but doctors have reportedly talked to the family about his terminal condition.

On the other hand, even though the TMZ report says several of Jackson’s children and grandchildren have also made recent visits to see him at the hospital, a separate report—this one from the Daily Mail—claimed that “senior family members” had been blocked from such visits by Jackson’s “handlers.”
Complex reports that in a statement to the Mail, Jermaine Jackson said the family has been “hurting” and at one point had no idea what was going on. “We shouldn’t have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this,” he reportedly told the tabloid. He added that his father is presently “very frail” and “doesn’t have long.”
Jackson, 89, was previously hospitalized and placed in intensive care following a stroke back in 2015. At the time, it was reported that Jackson had also suffered three previous strokes, including one three years prior to his Brazil hospitalization.
