*Los Angeles, CA – Congratulations are in order for hit series, FX’s “Atlanta.” The show, starring creator and writer, Donald Glover, was renewed for season 3 with a 2019 release date.
There are smiles all around as the cast and producers arrived to the black carpet for a commemoration and panel discussion of Season 2, entitled “Robbin’ Season.” and of course EUR was there to capture the excitement!
We all know that a great show begins with great writers and we spoke to the youngest and only female writer on the team for “Atlanta,” Stefani Robinson.
When asked to take us behind the scene into a day in the life in the writer’s room, Stefani says that it’s more “laid back and chill than most people would think.” She also describes the “magic” of writing coming about when it feels like you’re hanging out with your friends.
EUR associate Robin Ayers spoke with the show’s award-winning Director, Hiro Murai to discuss his thoughts on Season 2 as well as what we can expect to see on Season 3.
Murai says, “Based on the few story lines that I’ve heard and episode pitches that I’ve heard, there’s a lot of fun, exciting things coming up.”
EUR also spoke with Brian Tyree Henry who’s character, Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, is an up-and-coming rapper and plays the cousin of Donald Glover’s character, Earn Marks.
Brian describes the passion behind his work for not only FX’s “Atlanta”, but the seven films he’s recently worked on. He says:
“We come from a great lineage of art and talent and storytelling, and just being so fly. Being black is so awesome!”
He also shares that he is like his character in many ways, being down to earth and relatable. For more information on the show, cast and crew, visit http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/atlanta. Check your local listings for FX episodes on “Atlanta.”
