*Disney-Marvel’s “Black Panther” was a force to be reckoned with at the box office, and now its promotional campaign has proven to be just as impactful, according to its winning presence at the 19th annual Golden Trailer Awards.
The annual event, which celebrates the best in film and television marketing, saw “Black Panther” take home the night’s top honor and the most awards of any one film at the ceremony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Create Advertising won the top “best of show” award for its “Black Panther” trailer “Crown.” The film also earned awards for best action TV spot (AV Squad’s “Entourage”) and best music TV spot (Tiny Hero’s “Women of Wakanda”).
The Netflix series “Stranger Things: Season 2” and HBO’s “Westworld Season 2” won the most awards for television with each series winning three prizes. “Call of Duty: WWII” topped the videogame categories with three awards.
In the video game category, Call of Duty: WWII earned the most statuettes with three wins.
Netflix, Fox (with Fox Searchlight and FX), and Warner Bros (with HBO and New Line Cinema) each took home 13 Golden Trailer Awards each. Best trailer vendor was Trailer Park, which received nine trophies, followed by Mark Woollen & Associates and Buddha Jones with seven each.
The awards, founded in 1999, honor 108 categories of marketing, though only 17 were publicly honored on Thursday night. Hosted by Late Night Whenever Podcast’s Michelle Buteau, the awards welcomed some 1,000 entertainment professionals and movie fans to celebrate excellence in film marketing.
