*Ice Cube recently filed a lawsuit, along with Jeff Kwatinetz, his business partner, against an investor from Qatar and a member of the Qatari royal family.

According to the New York Post, the hip-hop legend claims to have gotten caught up in a bribery plot involving his BIG3 basketball league, the Qatari government, former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn — and Steve Bannon.

The lawsuit, worth $1.2 billion, states that the investors from Qatar tried to set up a meeting with Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, via the BIG3 basketball league.

The rapper and his business partner are alleging that they were both used as pawns by the Qataris in a bid to gain influence in and access into US politics. They are suing under the claim that they were promised millions of dollars in investments for their 3-on-3 basketball league but never received it.

According to theneolife.com, the investors included Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani who is the CEO of the Qatari Investment Authority and Ahmed Al Rumaihi, a former Qatari diplomat. Ice Cube and his partner allege that Al Rumaihi was actually acting as a representative of the Qatari government and that his target was Steve Bannon.

Kwatinetz has stated that Al Rumaihi asked him to set up a meeting with Bannon and inform him that the Qatari government would be willing to underwrite all of Bannon’s political efforts for his support.

Ice Cube’s business partner stated that he turned down this request and considered it to be a bribe which he found appalling.
