Halle Berry is Amazing and Everyone Should Know

*It is not unheard of that famous actors come from humble backgrounds and this is not any different. Halle Berry is one of those rare cases that come out from under the bedding of the fabric of society to rise up to the top through hard work and dedication.

Halle Berry was raised by a single mother and in a white neighborhood. She saw her fair share of racism as she was growing up but that did not stop her from becoming an over achiever in her field. She was always confident in her looks, thanks for her genealogy half German and half African American, and that kept her at the forefront of school and her modeling career as she was growing up. Halle was Head cheerleader and also class president in High school. Along with that she had won the Miss Teen All American Beauty Pageant in 1985 and Miss Ohio in 1986. She was first runner up in the Miss USA pageant in 1986.

That is not what makes her awesome though. What makes her awesome is that to follow her dreams she moved to New York in 1989 where she actively searched for acting gigs. There was a point in time where she was so strapped for funds that she was living in a homeless shelter.

Luckily she landed a roll that managed to get her started in the industry and that bred the career of the woman that is now one the most highly paid actresses in Hollywood.

Halle Berry won an Oscar that was a land mark achievement for a woman of her color back in 2002 for her performance in Monster’s Ball and that would remain the case for the next decade and a half.

She has been at the forefront of her own promotion ever since and she’s a good sport about all of her bad movie choices as well. Halle has received “worst actress” award from the Razzies and she was there to collect that in person. That just goes to show us how much of a good sport she is when it comes to work and life.

She has been actively staring in productions and is most known to younger fans as Storm from the X-men series and she’s given that character a life of its own.

Halle is one of the yard sticks that women of color can aspire to and she gives hope that no matter what your beginnings you can achieve great things with hard work.
