*Christina Aguilera started off her morning today by announcing the forthcoming release of her sixth studio album “Liberation,” her first in five years, and by dropping the set’s first single, “Accelerate,” produced by Kanye West.
“Liberation,” which Aguilera also executive produced, will hit the streets on June 15 via RCA Records.
“Accelerate,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, also comes with a newly-released video directed by Zoey Grossman.
West co-produced the track with Che Pope and Mike Dean, a rep for the singer confirmed to Variety, although the production credits are not mentioned in the official announcement.
Aguilera’s last album, “Lotus,” was released in 2012.
