*Today, Home Grown Entertainment announces “Growing Up PFunk” a conversation with the grandkids of the legendary George Clinton. R&B duo Kandy Apple Redd (pictured above), granddaughters of Dr. Funkenstein, will be joined by their cousins, Tra’zae and Young POPular for a no-holds-barred panel discussion about their experience growing up as kids in the entertainment business and as part of music’s most flamboyant dynasties.

The “Growing Up PFunk” panel will be held on Friday, May 4th on the campus of Full Sail University at The Treehouse from 3 to 5PM, and is open to students of the university. Students will be treated to the World Premiere of the documentary short film “Becoming Kandy Apple Redd” introducing the audience to Tonysha Nelson and Patavian Lewis, professionally known as Kandy Apple Redd.

The docu-series style film explores their quest to establish their own musical identities separate from their legendary grandfather. Immediately following the screening, Kandy Apple Redd will be joined by their cousins Tra’Zae Lewis Clinton and Young POPular, who are also third generation musicians, who will share stories of road life with PFunk, life as the youngest members of the Clinton Clan and their mission to create contemporary hit music. Kandy Apple Redd will treat students and music fans joining in on Facebook Live at the Kandy Apple Redd fanpage to a short performance.

“We are excited to share our story with the students at Full Sail as they launch their own careers in music. We hope to share both the joys and frustrations of this life that chose us, and to offer our encouragement while we celebrate this thing we all love…music” – Tonysha Nelson, Kandy Apple Redd

The presentation at Full Sail University marks the May 4th global release of Kandy Apple Redd’s new single “This Club” at digital streaming and retail outlets.
