Steve Harvey, Judge Mathis, Wayne Brady, James Reynolds, ‘The Real’ Nab Daytime Emmys

*The winners of the 45th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced Sunday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium with Steve Harvey, Wayne Brady, Judge Mathis, “Days of our Lives” veteran James Reynolds and the hosts of “The Real” and “The Talk” taking home trophies.

Soap opera “Days of Our Lives” was the top winner, earning Outstanding Drama Series as well as Outstanding Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Directing, and Writing.

On the talk show front, CBS’s “The Talk” beat favorite “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to nab Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment while the ladies of “The Real” won for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts.

Other winners included Harvey for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host, Brady for Outstanding Game Show Host, Reynolds for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and “Judge Mathis for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program. Dr. Oz” earned Outstanding Talk Show/Informative for a second year in a row. 

Mario Lopez co-hosted the ceremony with “The Talk’s” Sheryl Underwood. The topics of #MeToo and #TimesUp were mentioned occasionally throughout the evening, and Gloria Allred had visual props to celebrate Bill Cosby’s guilty verdict when she surfaced to present Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program to Judge Mathis.

Joely Fisher sang the In Memoriam tribute to the talent who died in the past year including Della Reese, Monty Hall, Rose Marie and Jim Nabors, among others.
