Kanye West Ignored By Parkland Shooting Survivor After Shaving His Head In Her Honor

*Kanye West took to Twitter on Sunday showing off his newly shaved head – a tribute, he said, to Parkland, Fla. shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez.

But Emma was not impressed.

The 19-year-old survived the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida, which claimed the lives of 17 people, and has become a leading activist for stricter gun laws.

Kanye, who was at the March for our Lives rally in Washington D.C. organized by Gonzalez and her classmates, shared a picture of Emma on Twitter and wrote: “My hero Emma Gonzalez.” He then shared a second post a little later, which was a selfie of him showing off his newly shaved head. “Inspired by Emma,” he captioned the shot.

However, Emma appeared to be unmoved by the shout-out, instead tweeting: “My hero James Shaw Jr.,” the man who wrestled an assault rifle away from an active shooter at a Waffle House in Tennessee.

It has been speculated that Emma didn’t acknowledge Kanye’s support because of the rapper’s recent love fest with Donald Trump, whose policies and support of the NRA she has criticized.

At a rally in February, Emma told the crowd: “If the President wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it (the school shooting) was a terrible tragedy and how it should never have happened and maintain telling us how nothing is going to be done about it, I’m going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association.”
