*Prince fans will soon be able to read about his remarkable life…in his own words.

ICM Partners’ Esther Newberg announced Wednesday (April 18) that Prince’s official memoir will be published by the holiday season. Three editors met with Prince at his Paisley Park home in Minneapolis, and a deal was locked down weeks before he died in April 2016, Newberg said on Variety’s “Strictly Business” podcast.

“It’s never been done before,” Newberg said when asked about the pitch process. “Editors don’t like to be in the same room making their pitches to the same potential clients. We had to do it because I knew he would not want to meet individually with editors.”

Prince was “committed to the book project” and worked together with author Dan Piepenbring, personally handwriting over 50 manuscript pages. Reproductions of his longhand pages might be included in the book, according to Newberg.

The project was originally announced about a month before Prince’s death, with a tentative title of The Beautiful Ones. Publishers described it as being “an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work.”

In other Prince news, over 150 of his items will hit the auction block next month.

The bidding event will be hosted by Julien’s Auctions in New York City at the Hard Rock Cafe on May 18 as part of the MUSIC ICONS 2018 event.

The available items range from childhood photos to a custom made Cloud guitar, engraved with the icon’s trademark love symbols. The yellow instrument is expected to fetch between $60,000 and $80,000.

Also among the collection are Prince’s outfits – including a blue turtleneck and pants, which he wore during his 1999 party at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota and is expected to go for around $50,000 to $70,000.

Registration is required to bid in this online auction and can be done in person at the exhibition, or online before the sale at the JuliensAuctions.com registration page to bid by phone, proxy or in person, or online at JuliensLive.com to bid live online, or by calling (310) 836-1818.

It’s been two years since Prince died at his estate in April 2016 from an accidental overdose of the pain killer fentanyl. and prosecutors are finally ready to announce a decision on criminal charges.

Carver County Attorney Mark Metz was scheduled to announce at 11:30 a.m. Thursday (April 19) whether anyone would be charged.

Prince was 57 when he was found alone and unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate in suburban Chanhassen on April 21, 2016. A confidential toxicology report obtained by The Associated Press in March showed high concentrations of fentanyl in the singer’s blood, liver and stomach. The concentration of fentanyl in Prince’s blood was 67.8 micrograms per liter, which outside experts called “exceedingly high.”

Search warrants unsealed about a year after Prince died showed that authorities searched his home, cellphone records of associates and his email accounts to try to determine how he got the drug. Authorities found numerous pills in various containers stashed around Prince’s home, including some counterfeit pills that contained fentanyl. The source of that fentanyl was never determined.
