*Dwayne Johnson is getting into the alcohol hustle with plans to launch his his own brand of tequila.
According to WENN, the actor’s company filed documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in January, attempting to register the brand name “Mana” for use in selling the liquor. The application was signed by his ex-wife and current manager Dany Garcia.
Mana, a Polynesian term for “spirit” or a supernatural force that confers power and authority, is close to Dwayne’s heart due to his Samoan heritage. The actor used the term to describe the bull tattoo he sports on his arm in an Instagram post last year.
The 45-year-old, currently starring in the action film “Rampage,” has expressed his love of tequila on several occasions, and recently caused a stir by pledging to bring a bottle to Saudi Arabia, where alcohol is banned and those found with booze can be flogged.
“I look forward to my first visit soon to Saudi Arabia,” he wrote on Facebook after dining with the Muslim nation’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Los Angeles. “I’ll be sure to bring my finest tequila to share with his Royal Highness and family.”
