Agent Hollywood Screening April 28, 2018 at West Chester Film Festival

*Anthony Michael Hobbs, an award winning actor (Emmy nominated “The Abolitionist”) and filmmaker (One Nation, Naga Pixie), will have his third short film Agent Hollywood screened at the 14th annual West Chester Film Festival in Pennsylvania April 28, 2018 at 10:30am at the Boxcar Brewpub.

The West Chester Film Festival is held from April 27 – 29, 2018 and presented by Exelon. It will be held at various venues In West Chester, PA that include the Chester County Historical Society, Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center and the Boxcar Brewpub. It will offer workshops, an opening night party, a filmmakers meet and greet and a closing night party. The family friendly festival screens short films from around the world. Their goal is to entertain, enlighten and educate.

Anthony Michael Hobbs has produced, directed and starred in three films – One Nation, Naga Pixie and the most recent Agent Hollywood. His first short film One Nation is about a group of kids doing something special for returning soldiers from the Iraq war. It was screened in 10 international film festivals and he won four awards. His second film Naga Pixie is about a group of friends being chased by a magical “Pixie” who is scolding them about how they treat animals and the earth. It has been screened at six film festivals and has won at two. His third short Agent Hollywood premiered at his own international film festival, ILICFF, when he was 11 years old. Agent Hollywood is about a young celebrity actor who is really an undercover agent with a mission to save the world. In 2016 he launched his own film festival, Imagination Lunchbox International Children’s Film Festival, in his hometown of Baltimore to give other youth a chance to be filmmakers. The next ILICFF is April 19 – April 23rd starting on Thurs April 19th at the Parkway Theatre from 5:30 – 7:30 screening films made by kids and or kids from around the world.

Anthony Michael Hobbs’ acting credits include performances in television, theatre and films, such as his role as a young Frederick Douglass in the 2013 Emmy Award nominated PBS special “The American Experience: The Abolitionist” (https://video.pbs.org/video/2321796209), as well as his starring role in DreamWorks documentary “How to Train Your Dragon: Dragons and Dinosaurs” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bekKOmfsWfc). In 2013 Hobbs represented PBS at the Emmy Awards, a feat not match by some major actors. His motto is “don’t dream it, do it”, He also won eight awards for his acting abilities from the Global Star Network Awards.

Anthony Michael is also a model who has appeared in national marketing campaigns that include the Finish Line athletic chain’s print and in-store campaign, Villa retail chain’s website and in-store campaign (2015), Toys-R-Us’ print campaign (2015), Charles River Apparel catalogue (2015) and the USDA Healthy Kids’ print campaign (2011). In addition, he is a motivational speaker who has appeared as a guest speaker for the Junior Academy (2017), former NFL player Joel Gamble’s (Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans) “Joel Gamble Foundation’s Career Scholars Program” (2016_, and for the Root Branch Academy’s Youth Film Festival (2015).

He has speaking appearances at the Black Writers Guild of Maryland’s “Youth Program” April 7th at Edmondson Ave Branch of the Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore at 3:30pm to talk about writing his films and at the “Maryland Arts Festival” at Mount Royal Plaza in Baltimore Saturday April 20th from 11 – 3pm to showcase his films. Anthony has also been coined as a “talent to watch” and as an “upcoming actor” is such outlets as Black Celeb Kids.com, The Reel Deal TV, The Hollywood Goss, EUR Web, The Pasadena Journal, The Urban Music Scene, and many others media outlets. He is also quoted as an upcoming filmmaker to watch in publications such as Stage32 and UCAN Magazine.
