Ne-Yo Discusses New Single and Upcoming Album ‘Good Man’ & More (WATCH)

*On BuzzFeed News’ AM to DM (@AM2DM), singer-songwriter Ne-Yo stopped by to speak on his new single and upcoming album “Good Man.”

He also expressed his thought about social media and bringing goodness to music. And he played a dating question game of Good Man vs. Bad Man.

Check out a clip of the interview above, with the game starting at 6:41, along with some quotes below that I thought you may be interested in sharing with your readers.

On Good Man
“We did Year of the Gentleman, and one of the things I realized about what it is to be a gentleman is to know the strength of looking the part. It’s to be charming and charismatic…But you can also use these powers for evil…Being a ‘Good Man’ is about understanding that perfection does not exist and that this life is about giving a damn about somebody other than just yourself.” (start time: 0:44)

“I feel like every few years, for whatever reason, us as men we forget what it is that we’re supposed to do in reference to women…It feels like it’s time for men to be reminded that respect comes first and foremost before anything…I just want to be one of the forces pushing back in the name of positive.” (start time 1:33)

On social media
“People take three or four pieces of a puzzle and just create the picture on their own…You’re spreading this negativity…And all of a sudden now this is the truth when it was never the truth, to begin with.” (start time: 4:18)

On bringing goodness to music
“I just want people to realize the truth, and the truth is love is eternal. Love is one of the things that we need. It is a necessity, it is not a choice. Everybody has felt the good, bad or ugly of love in some way, shape, form or fashion, so that makes the album relatable…I want people to understand the importance of love and to get back to that.” (start time: 5:57)
