*Sinbad has signed on to tackle a lead role opposite Lil Rel Howery in the Fox comedy pilot “Rel,” executive produced by Jerrod Carmichael and Mike Scully.

The series is inspired by Howery’s real life, “Rel,” and centers on Lil Rel (Howery), a prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to “always believe in yourself and great things will come.” Rel finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the West Side of Chicago who’s on a quest for love, respect and a new barber, per Deadline.

Sinbad will play the father of Rel and Nat, who seems to care more about his reputation in the community than he does about the happiness of his sons. Jess Hilarious has reportedly also joined the cast.

The Disney/Marvel film is now one of seven films to ever earn $600 million or more domestically. Its historic run also includes grossing $1.2 billion to date worldwide. It’s only the 14th film to ever accomplish that feat.

The nearly all-black cast features Chadwick Boseman starring as T’Challa/Black Panther, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.

Marvel has already confirmed that a sequel is underway.
