Rick Ross on Life Support – Machine Replaces His Heart and Lungs!

rick ross

Wow. The situation with Rick Ross is worse than many thought. According to source close to Ross, the rapper has been hooked up to a machine that’s taking over the function of his heart and lungs.

Did he have a heart attack? There’s no official word, but the music mogul is in a Miami area hospital getting treatment in the cardiac unit, which is a clue that he may be dealing with major heart problem which manifested itself as respiratory issues early Thursday morning.

As we reported earlier, Ross was rushed to a hospital after a 911 caller reported he was unresponsive and “slobbing at the mouth.”

TMZ reports that doctors have put him on something called ECMO, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. It’s a technique used to oxygenate his blood outside of his body, before it’s pumped back into his body.

The bottom line to that is it’s essentially a form of life support, and a clear sign of how dire Rick’s situation is right now.

Here’s our full report from earlier …

*Rick Ross was taken to a hospital in Miami for a serious medical condition, reports TMZ:

We’re told Rick took ill in the Miami area at his home. Someone from the home called 911 at 3:30 AM Thursday and said the person in distress was breathing heavy and unresponsive. The caller said the man in distress had a history of seizures — something that has plagued Rick — and they were trying to wake him up but he was “slobbing out the mouth.”

Law enforcement told TMZ that the person in distress came to and became combative.

Ross is currently in the hospital receiving respiratory treatment, possibly for pneumonia, according to the website.

One source says Rick was asked to make an appearance Thursday night, but a rep told him the mogul was in the hospital.

However, a family member strongly denied that Rick was hospitalized.

News of Ross’ health setback follows his two seizures on two separate flights in October 2011, which he blamed on a lack of sleep at the time. He changed his lifestyle and diet afterwards and eventually lost 100 lbs.
