*TV personality Candace Smith is a true Hollywood hustler who wears many hats; relationship expert, life coach, actor, producer, lawyer, and now she’s adding podcast host to her illuminating resume.

Smith has appeared as a relationship expert and matchmaker on the highest rated season of BRAVO’s “Millionaire Matchmaker”, E!’s “The Platinum Life” as well as two hit seasons of WeTV’s “Million Dollar Matchmaker.” Candace has also had a successful career in the scripted world, appearing on CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0”, NBC’s “Heroes” and most recently as the female lead in the action thriller, “My Father Die,” produced by Pierce Brosnan.

Executive produced by Judi Lewinson, Smith’s “Love By Candace” podcast does not hold back when touching on love, overall happiness and health, dating, sex, current affairs, gender issues, Hollywood, race relations, politics and more.

In this series, listeners will also get an inside view of Candace’s journey, relationship, entertainment career, celebrity friends & extraordinary experiences. “Love By Candace” unapologetically tackles controversial topics as well as everyday life.

When asked to explain the events that helped inspire her decision to launch a podcast, Smith told EUR/Electronic Urban Report:

“For quite some time, people would say, “Candace, you should write a book. You live such an interesting life. You have so many amazing stories — such a cool perspective on so many different topics.” I’m pretty knowledgeable in a lot of areas and I’ve been blessed to study at the University of London and go to Spain when I was 18 and stay for 3 months and lead a research group to Cuba… and I always forget I did “Survivor”…. and I’m writing a book. I would always go on other people’s podcast, whether it was Adam Corolla or ‘Chewin’ It with Kevin and Steve,’ and every time I go on their really successful podcast, the ratings would be super high. People were quoting me and I’m like, “I’m funny, smart and I have a lot to share.” And my biggest frustration with the show that I came off of is I was constantly being edited out, talked over, censored and this is something that I’ve kinda been thinking about for years, like… How do I find an outlet so that I feel good and I have creative control and I can share with the world? And then podcast just popped in my mind while I was in Hawaii last year but I didn’t know where to start. I contacted my producer, whose been a close friend for 15 years, and she’s like, “I got you.”

Smith says her podcast “came to fruition as an opportunity for the world to meet me and for me to share with the world.”

Adding, “I feel like, with my career, I’ve never had the opportunity for people to truly meet Candace Smith. It’s like, I’m Patti’s right-hand woman — the cute little black girl who was Miss Ohio.”

She’s referring to Patti Stanger, host of WE TV’s “Million Dollar Matchmaker.” Last season on the series, Smith shared her dating “do’s/don’ts” and she previously dished with EUR about what it’s like working with Stanger. Read it here in case you missed it.

“There’s so much more to me,” Smith states during our latest conversation, noting how the last “four years” have been “frustrating” for her, creatively, but working on “Love By Candace” has “excited me every day,” she said.

“I’m excited and bringing on amazing guests. My friend Thomas Jones, ex-NFL player and actor, is coming on and we’re going to talk about CTE and how that’s affected him.”

In a nutshell, Candace says “the podcast is really going to be about how to navigate through this world and stay as healthy, happy and sane as possible.”

So, what is she hoping women take away from her weekly show?

“I care most deeply about women. I’m very passionate when it comes to the empowerment of women, supporting other women, curing a lot of the disease that women carry within themselves, usually stemming from a lack of self-love that creates this insecurity and toxic energy towards other women. When women can’t be loving towards one another there’s something very deep-rooted there,” she explains.

“I have a lot of single women that come to me and they want coaching and they want me to find the love. They want me to find them a partner and the reality is, they’re issues in their life that needs to be addressed and most times it goes back to a lack of self-love and where they get their affirmation from. I truly believe it’s important for women to feel empowered, to love themselves more than anybody else and to be constantly nurturing aspects of themselves mentally, spiritually and physically — and the right love will come at that point. That’s my message for women.”

Staying true to its “unapologetic” tagline, “Love By Candace” tackles an exceptionally juicy hot topic: “What Makes You Black?”

“It’s an exciting topic because is it the percentage of African blood you have? Is it how you grew up culturally. Is it what your life priorities are, your passions? Like, what is it? Because I get judged a lot of times because I don’t look “black enough,” or people that have never met me judge me by the way I was raised and who I represent in who I am — I feel is pretty black” she says, adding that this particular podcast will feature “a guest from Nigeria.”

On the flip side of this issue, Smith says: “I know some black people that are 98% African blood but based on how they move, what they support and don’t support, I question their blackness.”

With “Love By Candace, ” Smith plans to “touch on every topic,” that resonates with women and black culture.

“I can do it because of the life I’ve lived,” she says.

New episodes of “Love By Candace” are released on Fridays at candacesmith.com, iTunes, GooglePlay and Stitcher.
