*21-year-old Trenton Lewis said his legs ached from the 11-mile walk he made every morning to get to his 4 a.m. shift at UPS. And yet, he dutifully did it for seven long months so he could provide for his 14-month-old daughter, Karmen.

“My pride is strong,” he told CNN. “Whatever she needs, I’m the person who is supposed to provide it for her.”

Lewis never missed a shift, never even been late, the job is too important to him, reports KATV.

“Had music in my head, I was just walking. Not worried about nothing, I was just moving my feet,” Lewis said.

“It got more important to me when I had my daughter. I knew I had to step up. I didn’t have a job when she was born,” he added.

But when his co-workers at a UPS facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, found out about his long trek, they decided to do something about it.

“I was emotionally moved. My heart just fell,” Lewis recalled of the moment his co-worker Kenneth Bryant handed him the keys.

“He just pulled some keys out of his pocket and I’m like, ‘That can’t be mine. Those keys cannot be mine.’ He brought them to me and my heart just dropped. I’m like, ‘This can’t be real,'” Lewis said.

Bryant and his wife have both put in almost 40 years at UPS.

“For a young person to decide in their mind ‘if I don’t have a ride, if I can’t get a ride then I’ll walk,'” Kenneth Bryant said. “If a guy can do that, we can pitch in to help.”

Most of the employees didn’t even know Lewis but were impressed with his hustle. The group reportedly raised almost $2,000.

“Everybody that I talked to said yes! The hardest part was reminding them to bring cash,” Kenneth Bryant said. “I told the seller what I was doing and who it was for and he said he was willing to work with me on a price.”

The group lured Lewis to the parking lot for a brief “union meeting,” where they surprised him with the keys to a 2006 Saturn Ion.

“God always has something for you,” said Lewis. “I’m never going to forget this ever.”

His first ride in the car was to pick up his daughter for a bite to eat.

“Feels good because it’s just me and the car. I don’t have to use my feet no more,” he said.
