‘Saturday Night Live’ Announce Migos as Headline Performers on March 3

*“Saturday Night Live” announced on Twitter Tuesday (Feb.20) the special guest hosts and performers for the month of March — along with the caption: “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.” 

The first show (on Mar. 3) will be hosted by NBA analyst and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, with Grammy-nominated trio Migos as headline performers. The following weekend (Mar. 10) sees “This Is Us” star Sterling K. Brown as host, while singer-songwriter James Bay will serve as musical guest and Mar. 17 will see comedian and actor Bill Hader hosting with indie rock vets Arcade Fire set to perform, per Billboard.

Following the release of “Culture,” Migos continues their chart domination with their sophomore effort “Culture II.” The album has received one billion streams on multiple streaming platforms with top hits such as “Motorsport” and “Stir-fry.”

As noted by The Source, at the beginning of the basketball tip-off game during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, the trio “received three individual plaques commemorating the momentous occasion.”

This is the first time that a rap group has garnered a billion streams for an album. Other artists to achieve such an accomplishment are A Tribe Called Quest and The Beastie Boys. 

In related news, Migos will collaborate with Korean artist Zico at the Le Grand Hip-hop Festival, the largest hip-hop festival in Korea. Zico is one of the most famous hip-hop artists in the country. This year’s festival line-up also includes 2Chainz and French Montana.
