*Mathew Knowles has written a book on racism and colorism, and how being a black man affected his relationships and his career in the music industry. While promoting the book “Racism: From the Eyes of a Child,” he noted that his superstar daughter Beyonce wouldn’t be successful if she were dark skinned.

Speaking to Ebony, Destiny’s Child’s former manager said: ‘When it comes to black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? ‘Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?’

The interviewer replied: ‘They’re all lighter skinned’, with Mathew saying: ‘Do you think that’s an accident?’ After the interviewer said ‘of course not’, Mathew quipped: ‘So you get it.’

Mathew also admits that he even thought Tina Knowles was white when they first met.

“When I was growing up, my mother used to say, ‘Don’t ever bring no nappy-head black girl to my house,’” Knowles told Ebony. “In the Deep South in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, the shade of your blackness was considered important. So I, unfortunately, grew up hearing that message.” The prejudice led him to date mostly white women or “very high-complexion black women that looked white,” he said.

That’s the reason he started dating the woman who would become his wife of 31 years. “I actually thought when I met Tina, my former wife, that she was white,” Knowles told Ebony

*NFL star Jameis Winston is going to be a dad!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback shared the video with girlfriend Breion Nicole Allen cutting into a cake to reveal the baby’s sex.

Jameis and Breion shared the exciting news that they will be welcoming a baby boy.

Winston said, “So blessed and humbled that now there is a life coming that I must protect, inspire and influence everyday.”

It’s unclear how long Winston and Allen have been dating, he first posted about her on Instagram last October and described her as “my new gf.”
