*The 6th Annual Global Spin Awards kicked off All Star Weekend on Thursday, February 15 at the Novo in Downtown Los Angeles. The GSA honors the most dynamic and talented DJs from around the world. Special awards were presented to Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland.
Emcee and DJ, Snoop Dogg hosted the awards which will air exclusively on REVOLT on February 22, at 9pm ET/6pm PT.
The Global Spin Awards were founded by the founder of the marketing firm, Power Moves Inc., Shawn Prez. Since the creation of GSA it has become a pillar of the music industry for DJs nationwide.
The nominations are chosen from submissions across more than 30 categories, showcasing some of the most talented creators and breakthrough DJs.
In the past, DJs such as Dj Khaled, Dj Envy, Marshmello, and Funkmaster Flex have been recognized for the tremendous work that they’ve put in.

This year, legendary producer Timbaland, known for his work with names such as Missy Elliot, Aaliyiah, Justin Timberlake, and others was honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Rap icon Jermaine Durpri who began his career as a dancer and evolved into an artist, DJ, producer, was honored with the “Breaking Barriers” award. He currently has kids and teens everywhere going crazy over Lifetime’s “The Rap Game” every Friday and he continues to change the game.
