*She was arrested before Christmas, but now Sherra Wright‘s finally been charged with the murder of her ex-husband, Lorenzen Wright, a former NBA player. We’ve got details.

But first …

NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick and his philanthropic efforts will continue in 2018, as the social activist recently shared how he will allocate the final $100,000 of his $1 million charity pledge.

“For the last round of my #MillionDollarPledge I’m going #10for10! My brother @KDTrey5 is joining & chose DeBug in the Bay Area! I’m donating $10k, KD’s donating $10k! Thank you brother for all the hard work! See it on https://kaepernick7.com,” he wrote on Twitter.

Snoop Dogg recently joined Kaepernick’s collection of famous friends who are supporting his efforts. The rapper said Monday he will donate $25,000 to Kaepernick’s Million Dollar Pledge, which aids various charities. (see clip above)

Meanwhile, one writer believes that Jon Gruden is “mulling over” the idea of signing Kaepernick to the Oakland Raiders. As noted by 247sports.com, “EJ Manuel is currently set to become a free agent, so the door is open for Gruden to bring in a new face, should he choose to.”

Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle reported that there are many reasons why Kaepernick signing to the Raiders makes sense, including the following:

Kaepernick is in super shape, eager to play football, and Oakland is a perfect fit — the city and the team.”

Gruden’s too busy with football to worry about politics, and he’s too cocky to believe that a little media attention on Kaepernick would derail the Gruden Train.”

He wrapped things up with by stating, “Don’t think Gruden’s not mulling this over.”

Do you think the Raiders and Gruden specifically should consider Kaepernick?

The wife of a former NBA player who was killed in 2010 has been arrested and charged with his murder.

Lorenzen Wright played 13 years in the NBA for five different teams. He spent the bulk of his career playing for the Memphis Grizzlies in his hometown. He was reported missing on 18 July 2010 and his body was discovered 10 days later. Wright was shot several times and investigators spent the last seven and a half years trying to solve his murder.

An arrest finally came a week before Christmas last year, when his ex-wife Sherra Wright was taken into custody in Riverside County, California. She was charged and forced to return to Memphis, Tennessee, where she now sits in jail in Shelby Co. after being extradited from CA this week. She’ll reportedly go through a mental/physical exam and kept isolated.

According to reports, Sherra’s accomplice in the murder, Billy R. Turner, has also been arrested and charged. Ironically, the duo met through church. Turner has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s office alleged in December that Turner and Wright conspired to kill Lorenzen. A breakthrough in the case came in November when investigators found the murder weapon, a gun, in Mississippi Lake.

Wright was awarded $1 million from a life insurance policy on her husband. She later settled out of court when it was revealed that the funds were intended for Lorenzen’s six children.

On the night he went missing, Lorenzen allegedly left home with cash and drugs. Sherra claims she heard him say he was going to “flip something for $110,000.”
