*After reportedly spending several years in limbo, Dame Dash’s new movie “Honor Up” starring Cam’ron is finally set for release on Feb. 16 in a limited number of theaters and On Demand through Lionsgate.

Dash teamed with Kanye West to present this “epic, explosive crime saga that features rappers Murda Mook, Blackface, and Smoke DZA.”

“This is really happening,” Dash wrote on Instagram last month. “#HonorUp in theaters February #staytuned.”

“This film reveals a deadly underworld where beats pound as bullets fly and even outlaws must live by the code,” according to the synopsis.

“Just showed my brother and executive producer the final version of #honorup,” Dame wrote on Instagram in reference to Kanye. “Wanted his honest opinion cause he’s snotty like me ..and he loved it #staytuned @damondashstudios #honorup in theaters…February  by #wifeyforlifey @raquelmhorn#investinwomen.”

Kanye reportedly did more of the administrative work on the film while Dame concentrated on the creative.

The story is inspired by Dash’s upbringing in Harlem. In the film he stars as OG, a drug lord’s lieutenant struggling to maintain the code of honor—protect the family—within his unruly crew after a Harlem shootout.

“Honor Up” also features Nicholas Turturro and Stacey Dash.
