*People are calling fashion giant H&M racist after its U.K. website featured a black boy modeling its new sweatshirt that reads “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle.”
Twitter wasted no time dragging the company once the ad surfaced on Saturday (Jan. 6). As of early Monday morning, U.K. time, the hoodie was still available for sale, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
By 9 a.m. local time, the listing had been updated, with the image of the black child missing.
H&M has yet to address the controversy.

Had a hard time finding this, but that’s because I was looking on the US site…it’s on the UK version of @hm’s website. https://t.co/CcEBWVUYaT pic.twitter.com/peQ5hc5wxI

Whose idea was it at @hm to have this little sweet black boy wear a jumper that says ‘coolest monkey in the jungle’?
I mean. What. pic.twitter.com/6AJfMdQS4L

More casual racism from H&M. This is nothing new when it comes to these clothing companies like Abercrombie and Tommy Hilfilger who have a long history of using their products to convey racist messages. https://t.co/6XwimxngCS
