*Lakeith Stanfield moves from the sunken place in “Get Out” to the world of international espionage in Sony’s “The Girl in the Spider’s Web.”

Fede Alvarez is directing the project that the studio hopes will relaunch the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” franchise.

Claire Foy will play hacker Lisbeth Salander and Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason stars as the rule-breaking journalist Mikael Blomkvist. Sylvia Hoeks, who appeared in “Blade Runner 2049” rounds out the cast.

Stanfield will play a NSA security expert who is tracking Salander, THR reports, citing sources.

“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is set to begin shooting later this month in Europe.

In addition to playing the mysterious black man married to a much older white woman in “Get Out,” Stanfield also had memorable turns in “Dope,” “Selma” and as Snoop Dogg in “Straight Outta Compton.”

Stanfield is perhaps best known for his role opposite Donald Glover in the critically acclaimed FX series “Atlanta.”
