*Donald Trump has unleashed his attorneys on author Michael Wolff in an effort to stop the release of his bombshell book about Trump’s administration.
Attorney Charles Harder, who is representing 45, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Wolff and his publisher, Henry Holt, on Thursday morning.
CNNMoney obtained a copy of the legal letter, which demands that the publisher “cease and desist from any further publication, release or dissemination” of the book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
As EUR previously reported, Wolff’s book is full of shocking quotes and claims about the chaos and incompetence unfolding inside Trump’s White House.
Excerpts from the book have been published by New York magazine and The Hollywood Reporter. But Harder’s letter alleges that the excerpts contain “false/baseless statements” about Trump. As such, the letter raises the prospect of a libel or defamation case.

However, legal experts believe an actual lawsuit is highly unlikely. Journalism advocates also note that any attempt Trump makes to censor the book would backfire and help sell even more copies of it.
The cease-and-desist threat came one day after Harder sent a letter to former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who is quoted in the book saying unflattering things about Trump and his family — including accusing Trump Jr. of committing treason when he met with Russians who enticed him with “damaging evidence” against Hillary Clinton.
Trump responded to Bannon’s comments about his son and son-in-law Jared Kushner, saying “Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”
Adding: ”Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country.”
A day after Trump fired back at Bannon, the former chief strategist praised 45 for being a “great man.”
“I support him day in and day out,” Bannon said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight.
When Bannon’s quotes from the book leaked out on Wednesday, it immediately soared to #1 on Amazon’s best-selling books list.
“Fire and Fury” is scheduled to be released to the public next Tuesday.
