1. Lil Wayne was not always Lil Wayne. His actual name is Swayne Michael Carter, Jr. and has gone by the names Shrimp Daddy and Baby D. before he chose Lil Wayne as his stage/professional name.
2. Lil Wayne may be a great fan of Jay-Z. That’s because he has a tattoo on his neck stating “Lucky Me,” which is a Jay-Z song. In addition to the tattoo on the neck, he also has a complete verse of the song tattooed on his leg. He also reportedly said that he has stopped listening to the music of other artists after The Black Album of Jay-Z came out.
3. He left school when he was just 14. This was the decision of his mother who found a pistol in his backpack and thought it was better to take him out of school before something bad happens. This made him take his music professionally and came out in the music industry in the form of a genius rap.
4. He was caught for smoking marijuana after a performance in New York City. He was later also charged for carrying a .40 caliber pistol which led to a jail sentence of a year but got out 4 months before the full year.

6. While he continues writing and singing about selling cocaine in his songs, he denies selling any in real life. He also mentioned that he has stopped doing cocaine because he is a pretty boy and cocaine causes acne.
7. He has been engaged several times. Lauren London and Nivea were both his fiancées but he ended up marrying Toya. The marriage didn’t last long and ended in divorce.
8. His first album does not have a lot of expletives. This is apparently because his mother didn’t want his first album to contain too many curses.
9. He changed his name from Dwayne to Wayne because he didn’t want to be associated with his biological father in any way.
