T-Boz Says Her Family is Suing Peoria, IL Cops for Killing Her Cousin (WATCH)

*As she should be, T-Boz is pissed about her cousin being shot and killed by cops in Illinois.

The TLC singer says her family is taking legal action against the police department for the killing her mentally ill cousin … and she’s behind them, 100%.

T-Boz was asked if she’d heard back from cops in Peoria, Illinois about her cousin Eddie Russell Jr.’s death last week. He was gunned down by officers in what they call a standoff that turned life-threatening.

T-Boz says she and her family haven’t heard anything at all, but plan to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the cops. As we reported, officers fired 17-20 rounds at Eddie, who was on the run after allegedly attempting to rob a bank.
She explained to a TMZ photog where she believes cops bungled the case — and strongly feels Eddie’s punishment didn’t fit his crime.

Back story of T-Boz’s cousin being shot:
*The Peoria Police Department in Illinois posted a press release on their Facebook page Friday, alleging Eddie Russell Jr., the cousin of TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, was shot and killed in front of his home because he was “advancing towards officers with a handgun.”

As previously reported, T-Boz, 47, tweeted out news of her cousin’s death last week, stating he was shot 18 times by police officers. On Monday, she posted her series of tweets on Instagram, writing, “My Cousin Was Shot 18 Times Including the Face and Back of His Head! He Harmed NO ONE EVER! He Had Mental Health Issues AND THE COPS KNEW THAT! Anything he’s ever Done Was minor and NON VIOLENT! Eddie Russell Jr -A Human-Being -A Son- Brother-Friend-Nephew – Cousin-HUMAN!”

According to the police department’s press release, the incident took place on Wednesday at about 12:49 p.m. when officers responded to a bank robbery. Police say Russell Jr. headed toward a residential area, before being identified by police through a bank surveillance video.
