*Even though the rape case against him was dropped by authorities, Nelly is not content with letting it go at that.

The rapper is taking action against the woman who made the accusation, according to his attorney, Scott Rosenbloom.

“Nelly has suffered very real damage to his reputation,” Rosenblum said in a statement to Page Six on Friday. “He has incurred economic loss and painfully has watched his family suffer. As a result, Nelly is planning to proceed with litigation as the first step in restoring his reputation.”

As we reported, the “Hot in Here” rapper, 43, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman on his tour bus in October. However, the King County prosecutors in Washington said this Thursday that they couldn’t proceed with the case because the alleged victim refused to cooperate.

“We were confident, that what our investigation revealed from the outset of this allegation would ultimately be clear and Nelly would be vindicated,” Rosenblum’s statement continued.

His attorney also said that while the rapper – whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. – supports various women’s advocacy groups that deal with sexual assault, the allegation leveled against him “is an affront to the real survivors of sexual assault.”
