The couple had celebrated the rapper’s 48th birthday by heading to the theater best-known for its showing of independent and foreign films. Hov is wearing a Gucci “Signoria” stretch twill tuxedo ($3,250) and DJ Clark Kent’s Nike Air Force 1 “Got That White” sneakers. On Monday evening, the couple was all smiles as paps caught them leaving the Angelika Film Center in New York City, where Bey had rented out a theatre for a private showing of “Wonder Wheel” to celebrate her husband’s 48th birthday.

“Hurry up, come get it,” JAY-Z was heard telling photographers from inside the elevator to snap pictures of he and his wife, who posed and smiled for the cameras, as seen in a video posted on TMZ.

The moment was a tongue-in-cheek nod to the last time they made headlines in an elevator – when Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles was shown on a security camera kicking, punching and lunging at JAY-Z during her infamous post-Met Gala elevator scuffle at the Standard Hotel in May 2014.
