*JAY-Z continued to call for the release of Meek Mill during his tour stop Friday (Dec. 1) in the jailed rapper’s hometown of Philadelphia.

In November, Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison for reportedly violating his probation – a sentence that supports have labeled excessive. Thousands have signed petitions or spoken out in support of Meek’s release, and JAY-Z’s concert in the D’USSE VIP Lounge of Philly’s Wells Fargo Center gave other celebs like Trey Songz, Yo Gotti and the city’s NBA ballers Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons – all sporting “Free Meek Mill” hoodies – the chance to voice their support.

Recently, Embiid and the 76ers’ co-owner Michael Rubin reportedly visited Meek in prison.

Friday’s concert is JAY-Z’s latest show of support for Meek Mill after writing an op-ed in the New York Times and JAY-Z and calling for his release at previous stops on his “4:44” tour.
