*The biggest names in music and entertainment all gathered at the Microsoft Center Sunday in downtown LA on November 19 for the American Music Awards.
So many celebrities were in attendance to watch Diana Ross receive the Lifetime Achievement award all while her daughter, Tracee Ellis-Ross, hosted the event.
Yours truly, Nicole Collins, was on the red carpet to witness the magic before the event began. Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Dior and Armani were just a few of the top fashion brands represented pre-show.
Smokey Robinson and his wife, Francine, looked amazing on the carpet and you don’t have to let Smokey know that he’s a lucky man, he knows this already. When asked what he was looking forward to the most the legend shared:
“Diana Ross, because you know… she’s my baby. I brought her into Motown when she was 8 years old so I’m looking forward to that emotionally.”
Smokey wasn’t the only one looking forward to Ms. Ross’ honoring. Rapper, Desiigner, stopped by to chat with us as well and said ”Shout out to the Mother of Soul” before letting us know about his new projects coming out soon.
Actress, Garcelle Beauvais, is a big fan of music and she looked fancy on the carpet. As far as being called Fancy, her popular character from the Jamie Foxx show, the actress says:
”I think it’s amazing If you can have a piece of art out there that people resonate with. It’s not a problem at all; I love it!”
And all of the entertainers who stopped by all agreed that they were looking forward to the performance of superstar Bruno Mars as well.
The night was full of joy and laughter with everyone up on their feet multiple times throughout the night.
