In attendance were stars and social influencers such as minister/singer, Marvin Sapp, choreographer/television personality Laurieann Gibson, actor Demetrius Shipp, Jr. (“All Eyez On Me”), and Judge Faith Jenkins, just to name a few.
Earlier this week, a beautiful brunch topped off the soiree on the roof deck on Hollywood’s new workspace & hot spot, NeueHouse.
After lots of selfies and full bellies, people rushed over to greet the man himself, Devon Franklin, who enters in cool, calm and collected in his business trendy attire.
Several attendees even brought their kids to partake in the afternoon screening, including EUR’s very own Robin Ayers who stopped by to with her daughters (Brooklyn and Madison) to have a quick chat with Devon as well.
Robin: “Congratulations on another project under your belt. At this point in your successful career are you ever fearful about releasing new films and if so, how do you overcome that?”
DeVon: “Absolutely, I think that faith isn’t the absence of fear. Faith is actually embracing and facing the fear and doing what we’re called to do even in the face of it.”
He continues: “’The Star’ is getting ready to come to the world. It releases on Friday but I have faith that whatever the result is going to be, that God is in it.”
We rounded the day off with several clips of this animated film that stars Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi and mega stars Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. Devon Franklin and moderator Angela Jollivette gave us a deeper insight to the films concept, music, and its process.
Make sure you take your whole family to see this witty and funny film, “The Star.” It opened in theaters nationwide this weekend. To find a theater near you, go to Google’s “The Star” page.
