*The Vh1 Hip Hop Honors were held last night Sunday, Sept. 17 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
The star studded carpet definitely had a die hard 90s hip hop theme and the celebs came dressed for the part. EURweb Senior Reporter Kiki Ayers hit the red carpet to catch up with the talent.
Blac Chyna, Faith Evans, Warren G, Master P, DJ Khaled, Karrueche Tran and Trina were just a few of the many stars came through to the event.
The special, which airs tonight Monday, Sept. 18th honors Martin Lawrence, Master P, Jermaine Dupri, Mariah Carey, Hype Williams and was hosted by Regina Hall.
Now, as females we all have our must haves before leaving the house whether it’s lip gloss, our favorite mascara or earrings but what were the must haves in the 90’s. We asked the iconic Faith Evans and her response was hilariously shocking.
“I used to kind of pack a gat for a quick minute,” she said. “I didn’t want nobody to think I was soft because I was a church girl so I had a gun.”
That’s not the only exclusive we got though. Karrueche Tran who came looking amazing with TLC vibes mixed with Aaliyah inspo, revealed that she’s currently not dating because “men are distractions.” She also informed us that she would be taking her acting skills to the big screen where she will be acting alongside Romeo Miller.
The event ultimately highlighted everything we love about the 90’s and brought together a community in hip hop merging the new school with the old school.
