*From the depths of free agency, Colin Kaepernick surfaced on Twitter Tuesday to show some love for ESPN anchor Jemele Hill in the wake of her comments about Donald Trump.
“We are with you,” he tweeted to the TV personality, along with a raised fist emoji.
We are with you @jemelehill ✊?

Hill made headlines when she tweeted “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.” She also called Trump “unqualified and unfit to be president” and said “his rise is a direct result of white supremacy.”
ESPN PR immediately distanced itself from the remarks in a statement saying that it didn’t reflect the view of the company:

Meanwhile, moments ago at the White House daily press briefing, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called Hill’s tweets “a fireable offense” and was unsure if Trump had even heard about them.
“I’m not sure if he’s aware,” she said. “I think that’s one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN.”
Pressed on why these influential African-American figures like Hill believe that Trump is a racist, Sanders replied, “I’m not going to speak for that individual, but I know that the president has met with people like Sen. [Tim] Scott who are highly respected leaders in the African American community. He’s committed to working with them to bring the country together. I think that’s where we need to be focused, not on outrageous statements like that one.”
