*Nicki Minaj takes the halftime stage to perform her verse in the basketball-themed music video for “Swish Swish,” Katy Perry’s new single, and the first from her upcoming album “Witness.”
In the Dave Meyers-directed visual, Perry’s hapless Tigers squad (her nickname is “Kobe Perry”) faces off against the Sheep. Lots of cartoonish shenanigans follow as the two teams battle it out on a gravity-defying court.
In the midst of all this, Nicki delivers her rhyme at center court, sporting a visor and illuminated by streams of bright lights.
“Pink Ferragamo sliders on deck/Silly rap beefs just get me more checks/My life is a movie, I’m never offset / Me and my amigos, no, not Offset,” Nicki spits on the track, referencing the Migos, and possibly her own rap rival Cardi B., who is dating Migos member Offset.
ESPN’s Bill Walton and Rich Eisen commentate, while Terry Crews and Molly Shannon play coaches. New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski makes a cameo as well.
