Racial Justice Leader (Rashad Robinson) On NYC Kaepernick Rally

*NEW YORK—Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, issued the following statement on Wednesday’s “United We Stand” rally for Colin Kaepernick in at NFL headquarters in NYC.

Rashad Robinson, Executive Director of Color Of Change:
“The tragedy in Charlottesville should have made it disturbingly clear that outright and structural racism still play a major role in our society. It is outrageous that the NFL’s millionaire and billionaire owners continue to punish Colin Kaepernick for standing up to this hate, while they have done little to address it.”

“The refusal of NFL owners to sign Kaepernick is not about football—it’s about fear of Black peoples’ free speech. Colin Kaepernick speaks for so many of us, and silencing him sends a message to every football viewer that the concerns of Black communities are not valid.

“NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is the most powerful person in football, so today’s protest asks him to send a clear message to team owners: sign Kaepernick.”
